PokeCharmers, YouTube branding to stand out in a crowded niche

PokeCharmers is a project close to my heart, since I’ve been young I’ve always loved the creativity and energy the Pokemon brand have created. And when Pokemon Go launched it was a craze like never before, now on Youtube (if you’re into the game) becoming a Pokemon Go creator is what every Pokemon Trainer wants to become, with high view rates, and a strong audience to engage this haas become a great niche for Pokemon Gamers. With this standing out has become impossible.

PokeCharmers is a new Content Creator Duo that plays Pokemon Go around the world, but they wanted to have a strong presence on YouTube and other socials to be noticed instantly in the crowded market.

Setting the foundation

We noticed we had an advantage because most content creators don’t focus on a brand strategy or visual communication, they just post a lot and hope to get noticed. Even though this can work it slows down the recognisability of the brand, as people have nothing to remember you buy.

We started with a Brand strategy to develop their brand essence, this included the naming of the channel, their brand purpose, mission, vision and values, then we moved to the personality and who their target audience were, we also looked into where our audience touch points were so we knew exactly where the customer will interact with us.

This then gave us a clear foundation to move onto the visuals.

This turned into a dream project with creating assets a brand and visual style that made PokeCharmers stand out, and be connected to the interests of their audience. We created the logo symbol, logo variations, icons, stickers, merch, brand guide, packing, posters, illustrations.
